The service
CatchThis is a temporary email service. Public inboxes are readable by anyone who knows the address — do not use them for sensitive mail. Emails we receive (sender, subject, body, headers, attachments) are stored so you can read them, and can be deleted by you at any time.
If you create an account, we store your email address, name and avatar as provided by your sign-in provider (Google or email code), the addresses you claim, and your API keys. We keep aggregate usage analytics (counts of received emails and API calls) to operate the service. We do not sell your data and we do not use your inbox content for advertising.
The browser extension
The CatchThis extension stores a single piece of data: the API key you paste into it. The key is kept in your browser's extension storage (synced by your browser if you enable browser sync) and is only ever sent to catchthis.email to create inboxes and validate the key.
The extension does not read, collect or transmit your browsing history, page content, form data or any other information from the pages you visit. Its content script only draws the suggestion UI next to email fields; nothing about those pages leaves your browser. There is no tracking and no third-party analytics in the extension.
Data removal
Delete individual emails from any inbox view, or delete your API keys from your account settings. To remove your account and associated data entirely, contact us at the address below.
